Gannets Take Flight

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

The fifth Friday of the month gave my team at work reason to go on an afternoon outing. Off to Muriwai we headed.
Blowing off the dust I took the now 10 year old Four Thirds Olympus E500. Although only 8MP, and old tech by current standards, I still love the out of camera rendering + the lens set I have with it have a great range! Limited to 400iso, and slow but ok focus times, I knew it was going to be a challenge catching these birds in mid flight – especially with the decent trade winds blowing. I certainly had many poor results, but here are a group I am quite pleased with. The E500 ain’t book-shelved quite yet still!

A Walk After Work

Well into Spring and on our way to Summer, it’s nice to get out and about for a stroll after work. These two shots from Beach Haven on Auckland North Shore.

A Clear Cool Stroll

Walk1As the rain falls down heavily today, I have a sort through some images shot yesterday. Typically usual of New Zealand this time of year, yesterday was fine and sunny (but chilly in the shade and quite windy), today is bucketing down.

Images shot between Mission Bay and Saint Helliers, two seaside suburbs just out from Aucklands CBD.

Kumeu Classic Car and Hotrod Show

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

This weekend marked the 21st Hotrod and Classic Car show in Kumeu. One could spend all weekend wandering through the isles of vehicles and things going on. We only had a few hours. Below is a very small selection of the variety on show. All shot on my Olympus E-500.

New Zealand Countryside in B&W

NZCS1Between Christmas and New Year we took a drive down from Auckland to New Plymouth to see family. Here are a few snaps from one of the ‘stretch ones legs’ stops.

I love the NZ countryside.
