• sand taggingOver the weekend I featured a photo showing the eroding sandstone type cliffs that feature all over Auckland’s North Shore. Another man made version of erosion to these is the tagging or carving of ones names into the walls. Not quite marked forever, but marked for a good enough while (well, thats a meaningless assumption really).

Shot on the Sony Nex and 30mm Sigma.

  • Sundown againSame venue as yesterday – just from a different spot.

  • Last hour of light

“Dusk is just an illusion because the sun is either above the horizon or below it. And that means that day and night are linked in a way that few things are there cannot be one without the other yet they cannot exist at the same time. How would it feel I remember wondering to be always together yet forever apart?”

  • The Long Monday

Sometimes, I feel the fear of uncertainty stinging clear
And I can’t help but ask myself how much I let the fear
    Take the wheel and steer
    It’s driven me before
And it seems to have a vague, haunting mass appeal
But lately I’m beginning to find that I
Should be the one behind the wheel

Whatever tomorrow brings, I’ll be there
With open arms and open eyes yeah

Whatever tomorrow brings, I’ll be there
    I’ll be there

So if I decide to waiver my chance to be one of the hive
Will I choose water over wine and hold my own and drive?
    It’s driven me before
And it seems to be the way that everyone else gets around
But lately I’m beginning to find that
When I drive myself my light is found

Whatever tomorrow brings, I’ll be there
With open arms and open eyes yeah

Whatever tomorrow brings, I’ll be there
    I’ll be there

Would you choose water over wine
    Hold the wheel and drive

Whatever tomorrow brings, I’ll be there
With open arms and open eyes yeah

Whatever tomorrow brings, I’ll be there
    I’ll be there

  • melting clifsAfter several planned things didn’t go to plan this morning, it was time to get out of the house and get some fresh air.

Venturing down to the bottom of Beach Haven on the North Shore, we visited Tui Park. A short winding path takes one down to the seashore. A small beach soon turned to mud once one walked around the corner. Looking up at the almost martian red cliffs, its no surprise a lot of the North Shore has eroding cliffs. The soft sandstone mix can be seen in todays image quite literally running down in orange streams of mud.
