Back to Mairangi Bay several days later, armed with togs and a different camera. Here in NZ we are fast approaching autumn with shorter days and cooler temps. Still warm enough to burn in the sun however… 5 cargo ships sit out in the distance, waiting for their turn to head into port.

Testing out a now aged, but nice Olympus Pen Mini 2, I took a seaside stroll along Mairangi Bay in Auckland. Majority of shots using built in ‘art filters’ and just some casual experimental fun.

A recent creation influenced by Sam Kamaka Jr’s 1940’s cigar box ukulele. Built from merbau side/neck/fretboard/bridge and pine braced marine laminate front and back, this is a concert scale length uke. Fretboard has a 9.25” radius, something I don’t usually add to my ukuleles. Finishing in linseed oil and beeswax gave the uke a nice…
